Mag-Securs: Please tell us about your company (its creation, group, jobs, etc.). Prim'X Technologies is an information system security software provider which designs, develops and commercializes software products as well as providing direct technical assistance (maintenance and support). Other forms of assistance such as deployment support, training, first level support, administration, etc. are either provided by our distributor or integrator partners, or by the customers themselves. The company is primarily engaged in technological and commercial activities. It is equally strong in its management and its main services, its laboratory of highly experienced engineers, its publishing department (marketing, packaging and communication) and its marketing department. The long-term objective of the company is to expand into the European market. The company was created in 2003 by cryptographic experts. Its head office is located in Lyon and there is also a trade office in Paris at 42 Avenue Montaigne.
Mag-Securs: What is your flagship product for 2005? Our new product is called ZoneCentral. It is a new generation encryption software which can easily be implemented. It is automatic for the administrator and transparent for users. This solution offers a high level of security as it encrypts files in order to restrict access to authorized users. Without affecting your organization, ZoneCentral protects your files and folders in place. It is the best product for ensuring the security of laptops and fixed workstations, as well as of files on servers or USB memory sticks. Furthermore, we have equipped ZoneCentral with environment security features such as the ability to wipe deleted files on-the-fly, making ZoneCentral a sound security product for workstations as well as an encryption tool.
Mag-Securs: What type of customers are you targeting? Our solutions are particularly well suited to the needs and constraints of large companies, especially administrations and corporate customers from Europe who require trusted products in order to protect their information. We are currently undertaking a major project with the DCSSI to obtain certification for ZoneCentral in its entirety (not only to the cryptographic core). This clearly shows that Prim'X Technologies intends to become a major player in the security sector in Europe.
Mag-Securs: What are the main features of your product? I would highlight three of them: Firstly, the company (the security officer) can define and apply its security policy and its encryption plan through the product's configuration system. ZoneCentral then automatically and systematically applies them, without any user interaction. A second strength of this product is the total transparency of its encryption function for users. Lastly, the existing environmental security features (such as the ability to automatically wipe deleted files on-the-fly, and the "anti-keylogger" system) constitute a third strength of this product.
Mag-Securs: How do you provide technical assistance to your customers? Our company is primarily a provider of software products. Technical assistance or other forms of support are generally provided by our integrator partners or by the customers themselves. We offer training on our administrative tools as well as high-level support, of course.
Mag-Securs: How is your marketing network organized? We mainly operate through 'direct marketing - indirect sales'. Our products are generally sold by integrators who provide customers with support in defining their security policy and their encryption plan and implementing the product. Our network of integrator partners is composed of companies of various sizes, specialized consultancy firms, or integrators such as Devoteam which provide worldwide coverage.
Mag-Securs: How is your technical support structured in France and in Europe? Our structure is very conventional. Our clients can access our technical support Internet site in order to download any corrections and updates relating to the product. We very rarely offer direct technical assistance to the customer. This is the role of our integrators, which we provide with level 2 support.
Mag-Securs: What is your final message to your customers? We treat our customers as our partners. After all, they are the ones who provide us with the best ideas concerning the evolution of our products.
