Cryptography: The latest weapon against industrial espionage (May 23, 2005)

Paris, May 25, 2005 – The economic warfare opposing different companies has been going on for a while now and recently, it has been proved that industrial espionage is one way of fighting this war. Strong perimeter protections deployed by companies make it easier to deal with external threats. However, experience has shown that in most cases, the actual employees of a company are those responsible for the theft of critical data. Thanks to its pioneering cryptographic software, Prim’X Technologies offers an efficient and concrete protection against the risks of data thefts in companies.

All the solutions deployed allow companies to identify and authenticate users who access their network: Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), smart cards, USB device, certificates, etc. But once the users have been identified and that the physical boundary of the company has been crossed, they may access the machines (laptop and desktop computers and possibly servers) using simple hacking techniques (dismounting disks, boot on another system, network attack, fault or wrong settings defined for rights system) and thereby access corporate data.
